What is ECE104?
Regulation ECE104 is the European regulaiton which sets the minimum requirements for retroreflective marking tapes for vehicles which are typically used for transportation of goods. The regulation provides guidelines for retroreflective line or contour markings of heavy goods vehicles and their trailers, allowing other motorists extra time to react when approaching an HGV at night or in poor visibility conditions.
The colour of the tapes must comply with local regulations, which in some cases require yellow to the side and red to the rear. In other cases it requires either yellow or white throughout the whole vehicle.
