Reflexite and Social Responsibility

Long before “Corporate Social Responsibility” (CSR) became a buzz term in the industry, the employees at Reflexite actively engaged in giving back to their communities – not because it was good for their image, but because it was just the right thing to do. Throughout the company’s history of more than four decades, the concept of giving back always has been an intrinsic value in the company’s culture. A sampling of these initiatives includes large donations of reflective products for child safety initiatives throughout the world, volunteering in local schools to teach business basics, and volunteer work with organizations such as Rebuilding Together, a leading nonprofit organization which helps low-income Americans to repair and refurbish their homes and to rebuild communities. Financially, the company has provided scholarship support to inner city students as well.

All of these efforts are simply an extension of Reflexites core values and corporate culture.

Reflexite Director of Human Resources, Lisa Casey, is the chairperson of the Social Responsibility Committee. She explains, “Reflexite Corporation believes that being a responsible corporate citizen is just as important as it is for any individual to be responsible in his or her community. We formed the Reflexite CSR committee in 2006 to focus our efforts in order to ensure that our contributions are best aligned with our business concept. Over the years, we have provided both financial and in-kind contributions to a number of causes that we feel relate strongly to our mission of Saving Lives and Saving Energy.”

Lisa added, “Because level and quality of education is so closely related to the health and welfare of any society, working to improve it is an initiative where we know we can help save lives.”
